Scene nº 11 – THE ADMINISTRATOR INTERRO-
GATES LUCIA
(August 11th)
All Portugal was in a ferment. The Press,
in utter
scorn, criticized the credulity of the people. On
August 11th the Administrator notified the little shep-
herds that they were to appear before him in Vila
Nova de Ourém. Only Lucia presented herself, accom-
panied by her father and uncle, but she stayed firm
under interrogation and ended without revealing the
secret which Our Lady had confided to her in the
apparition of July 13th. |
Scene nº 21 – FRANCISCO, NOW ILL, SPEAKS
TO LUCIA FOR THE LAST TIME
An epidemic of pneumonic influenza falls on Europe.
Francisco and Jacinta are stricken. All too soon the
time comes when Lucia and Francisco converse
together for the last time in this world. The little
shepherd asks that a priest come to him, as he
wishes to make his confession and receive the
Hidden Jesus. He dies on the mornig of 4 April 1919. |

On 13 May 1967, Golden Jubilee of the Apparitions.
The Holy Father Paul VI deigned to visit this Sanctua-
ry as a pilgrim, where he met the Seer Lucia, a Carmelite
nun. |
