 The First World War (1914 – 1918) brings death  
and destruction to many nations.
Scene nº 6 – LUCIA’S MOTHER COLDS HER 

  The news spread like wildfire. 
  Next Day, Lucia’s mother and others of the family 
threatened to punish her severely if she continued 
as they thought, telling lies and inventing stories.
Scene nº 8 – THE PARISH PRIEST QUESTIONS 
                      THE CHILDREN 

  The news about the apparition of June 13th spread 
with the utmost rapidity. The Parish Priest of Fatima 
thought it his duty to interrogate the children and to 
do it in the presence of their respecting parents. He 
expressed a doubt: Might not this vision be a decent 
of the devil ?
